Red haired woman loving face of big bay horse with a cover photo of The Breath of Horse Crazy book

Janet Craig

Janet and I met shortly after she accepted the awesome responsibility of caring for nine camp horses. At the tender age of seven, Janet knew she was in love with horses, but surrendered her dream of having a horse of her own when her growing family and a devastating diagnosis stacked too many obstacles in the way.

Janet Craig — Hooked By Horses

Sometimes surrender is temporary. Janet shares her highs, lows, and huge heart with readers in The Breath of Horse Crazy in the chapter, Hooked by Horses.  Readers can’t miss her humor, passion, and progress through life’s changing circumstance.

The message for some of you ladies is that even if your dream of life with horses is delayed, when you least expect it, an entire herd may arrive. Janet is a very important person in the lives of many people and animals – including mine.

A Message From Janet

First I want to give thanks to The Lord for allowing me to have a story to share. Second, a big thank you to Lynn Baber for allowing me to share my horse story with you.

Life is full of highs and lows; weddings, births, illness, or loss. Whatever you are going through, remember God is in control, and He hears our prayers. He doesn’t always answer them exactly as we wish, or at the exact time we would like. Yet He always answers, if we would but listen. I encourage you to carve out some time in your day to read His word, and listen for His voice.

My plan for my life was much different than God’s plan. However, His plan has been so much fuller than I could have ever imagined. I tell folks all the time, I have the best job in the world. I work for Jesus Christ, with children and horses.

Thank you for stopping by!

Grateful to serve,
Janet Craig

The End of the Rainbow for Horse-Crazy Ladies

For everyone with the love of horses in their DNA.

Why do women love horses? Husband, fathers, and sons try to understand us but often give up, accepting that the woman in his life was born that way and it’s better to accept than resist. If you’re in the sisterhood of horsewomen, I invite you to share the dream.
