It’s still crazy out there. Sin is rampant. Excuses are ridiculous, horrible, and coming in from every side.
Mr. Baber and I spent nearly two years learning and sharing with disciple-making veterans of more than 60 years. When we brought a question to JD, about politics, current events, or some personal quandary, his response was the same.
“What’s the kingdom truth?”
The first few times we stopped short. “What?” No answer or opinion? Before long we realized that his was the best response because it jerked us out of TODAY and into eternity.
God hasn’t changed, nor has His word, His expectations, or the promises still waiting to be fulfilled.
What are Christ-followers to do in this day?
The simple answer is to do what we’ve always done; set our minds on things above and be guided by God’s infallible word and the Holy Spirit.
Everything you see or hear in the media, Facebook, or in your local coffee shop is part of a larger narrative and far bigger plan. Nothing on earth or in heaven is powerful enough to step out of it or change it.

The Little Girl in the Saddle
Some lucky little girls start their careers in the saddle nestled securely in front of Mom, Dad, or Grandpa. The first time they rode a horse they held a lead rope or rein in a tiny hand, believing they controlled the speed and direction of the horse.
But they didn’t. Mom, Dad, or Grandpa knew exactly how the horse would react and kept it going in the right direction and speed.
That’s how it is with God. We all think we control the direction or speed of our journey and place. We don’t. God sits behind us, managing the direction and speed of our lives, nation, and world.
Nothing is up in the air except your personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe.
