The Bible begins and ends in the same way – a new heaven and new earth. From Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, the subject never changes. The story of God’s Word is Jesus Christ. Of course, no great story teller would give away the end of the tale in the second sentence. Foundations and back story need to be laid before the hearer can appreciate what the characters go through to reach the happy ending.
Simplicity Note #1 introduced the foundational concept of everything – the beginning.
The Simplicity Note series offers tidbits, inspirational quotes, and helpful ponderments (I love that word!) to reduce complexity and indecision in a world with too many distractions, temptations, and options. Most folks are bugged by too many options rather than too few. Simple life is joyous life!
The Apostle John could see the end of his mortal journey when he wrote the sentence that blew the beginning into something stunning and meaningful for us, his readers.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
- Jesus was present at Genesis 1:1.
- Jesus was with God when He spoke the world into existence.
- Jesus is God.
And the story continues…
