When I first read what Jessica sent me describing how her love of horses began, I was struck by the richness of her description and adopted it as the title of this book. Just between you and me, I’m a pretty good horse trainer and a decent writer, but stink at coming up with titles. I am forever grateful to Jessica for making this one easy!
Jessica’s heart is as big and bright as her love for Jesus Christ, horses, and the people she serves. She has unbridled enthusiasm, creativity, and endless commitment.
Meet Jessica
Jessica Shively is a Marine Corp veteran who started an equine facility, Trail of Faith Farms, in eastern North Carolina in 2013. Her strong faith and dedication has lead her to become a full time trainer in Natural Horsemanship and a P.A.T.H certified instructor.
The foundation of her training techniques is based on Natural Horsemanship that taught by world-known professionals such as Pat and Linda Parelli. Her teaching methods are also influenced by Lynn Baber, Paul Daily, Monty Roberts, Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, and professional reining trainers like Shawn Flarida and Jesse Chase.
Jessica is a passionate equestrian who strives to bring new ideas to every horse and human relationship. She applies her Christian values in her life as well as in her horse training and therapeutic riding. She has more than twenty-two years experience riding, training, teaching, and working with people with various diagnoses.
Jessica excels at bringing horse and human together to teach the art of communication, as well helping them to overcome emotional and physical challenges in the comforts of the barn and arena.
Trail of Faith Farms
“Trail Of Faith Farms is a Christian Based Equine Facility located in Trenton, North Carolina. The Farm is owned by Joshua and Jessica Shively. Trail of Faith Farms is continuously striving to better our amenities, so we can better accommodate all students. We pray that God will continue to guide us in establishing our Farm. Our goal is to uplift souls and spread the word of Jesus Christ by the use of horses.”
